Brompton Laundry Company Embarks on Three Year Investment Plan.

In response to rapid growth in the local hospitality sector Brompton Laundry has begun a three-year investment plan to build on its recent success in the linen hire market.

Stage one of this three-year strategy is now complete with the introduction of RFID technology, which is used widely across Europe.

Brompton Laundry has successfully trialled this RFID technology as part of its new contract with Holiday at Home which specialises in Luxury Holiday accommodation throughout Richmond and the Yorkshire Dales.

All 4,500 linen items in circulation at Holiday at Home are tagged and tracked electronically in and out of production, enabling Brompton to closely monitor stock quality and quantities. The system will shortly be rolled out to all Brompton’s linen hire customers.

Commenting, Fiona Howie Director said:

“As well as the obvious benefits to us as a business, the time savings for the customer have been immediate – housekeepers are no longer required to count the soiled items leaving their premises and more accurate deliveries and maintenance of stock levels mean the customer always has an adequate stock of quality linen to run their business smoothly.”

In January 2018 following the installation of Ecolab’s 40 degree washing technology, Brompton will be introducing state of the art Girbau machinery and a Heat Recovery system. This will dramatically lesson Brompton’s impact on the enivironment whilst maintaining a first class product for their customers at a more competitive price.

The team at Brompton Laundry is also expanding and recent recruits include Elaine Midgley, who joins as Operations Manager. Elaine arrives with 28 years’ experience in the Laundry Industry more recently working for a national laundry company as General Manager overseeing production of over 1 million pieces per week.

“I am thrilled to be joining Fiona and Charlie at such an exciting time for their business and relish the new challenges of developing the plant whilst maintaining the quality of the product and service. As a North East girl it is also very exciting to be returning home to my roots after so long and I am really looking forward to getting to know our customers over the coming months.”
